For personal injury attorneys and case teams
You know the law. I’ve spent 26 years on the medical side of your files.
Intro
I’ve worked with Arizona firms for most of my career, as a treating chiropractor, a provider operator and the founder of AZ Injury Doctors. Along the way I’ve seen which files come together cleanly on the medical side and which ones struggle, usually for reasons nobody noticed early enough.
I’m not an attorney, and nothing here is legal advice. It’s what I see from the medical side, offered so you can use it with your own judgment.
Topics
01
What strong notes look like, and how to spot records that read the same every visit.
02
What a reasonable course of conservative care looks like and when escalation tends to make sense.
03
When referrals and MRIs are typically considered, and how they should be documented.
04
Why they happen, how to spot them early and how providers can help reduce them.
05
What PI competency looks like in practice, from responsiveness to records turnaround.
Common issues
Each of these is fixable on the medical side, usually with better communication and a provider who knows what good records look like.
01
A late first visit with no reason recorded.
02
Symptoms missing from intake that show up later in treatment.
03
Missed appointments nobody follows up on for weeks.
04
Referrals with no stated clinical reason.
05
No functional limits recorded, so the notes show care but not impact.
Ways to work together
I’ll come talk with your attorneys, case managers and paralegals about documentation, treatment progression and working with providers.
I host Arizona attorneys for candid talks about where medicine and law meet.
When a client needs care coordinated, my team at AZ Injury Doctors works with independent providers at more than 90 Arizona locations and keeps your office updated.
